The game asks if you're male/female at the very beginning of the game. Though, I did find a minor glitch in it and the online version..... When it asks you do you want to find a mate, and you say "yes", and you select that you are a male, and continue on, it asks "So how are you going to find him?" .....no offense to anyone who is like that, but I think that is a typo.
