Neighbourhood Necromancer: Command the undead to take revenge on the suburbs!

SAN FRANCISCO--May 16th, 2014: Choice of Games announced today that "Neighbourhood Necromancer," the latest in their popular line of multiple-choice interactive-fiction games, is now available for iOS, Android and, via the Chrome Web Store, Windows, OS X, and Linux.

Command the undead to take revenge on the suburbs! Oh, everyone at school laughed at you, but no one will laugh when your minions seize control of critical local infrastructure. Perhaps you'll start by taking over a convenience store.

"Neighbourhood Necromancer" is a hilarious interactive horror novel where your choices control the story. The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

For example, when you and your horde return to exact vengeance on the local hairdressers, what will you do?

A) Full-on undead assault.
B) Send a zombie in for a trim.
C) Attempt to lure the inhabitants out into the open.
D) Get a haircut and improvise while in the chair.

Will you rule suburbia openly or skulk in the shadows? Will your necromancing impress the cool kids at school? Will you use your dark powers to destroy your home town, or save it from the secret industrial/military operatives who have come to destroy you? The choice is yours.

About the Author

Gavin Inglis is a writer, teacher, and performer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He writes for the smartphone fitness game, "Zombies, Run!" and his short fiction has appeared in "Nova Scotia," "Read By Dawn," and "The Seven Wonders of Scotland." A regular face on the spoken word circuit, Gavin has appeared at Literary Death Match; the Latitude festival; burlesque events; the Edinburgh Book, Fringe and Science Festivals; punk gigs; a Hunter S. Thompson tribute night and a roller derby fundraiser. His work appears on albums by the Glasgow band Spylab and Cinephile.

Gavin has a long-term interest in storytelling in new forms, and works with music, photography, and magic. His collection, "Crap Ghosts" contains several stories of ineffective apparitions and substandard spooks.

"I think one of the reasons that Pokemon catches the imagination is that every kid would like to have their own personal, cute monster friend, to keep them company and fight on their behalf," said Gavin Inglis, author of Neighbourhood Necromancer. "By the time you're a surly teenager, you have to take a more realistic view of monster friends. They're going to break your stuff, demand constant attention and get you into trouble. Plus, they smell really bad."

He previously authored Eerie Estate Agent, the world's first supernatural rental sim, for Choice of Games. He dedicates "Neighbourhood Necromancer" to Ali Maloney: writer, actor, father, necromancer.
