We’ve made it simpler to buy the “Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court” trilogy on iOS

Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court

We’re changing the way we sell the “Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court” trilogy, including raising some of our prices, and lowering others. Overall, the price of Romance is going up, but if you buy today, you can still buy the trilogy at our lowest price ever.

Confusingly, we have two apps on the iOS App Store for “Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court,” one paid app, and one free app partially supported by advertising. (We only have one Android version, which is free to download.) Both apps included five different kinds of in-app purchases for $0.99 each, including Episode 2, “Choice of Intrigues,” which is 70,000 words long, and Episode 3, “‘Til Death Do Us Part,” which is over 100,000 words long. In addition, the free app includes a $2.99 in-app purchase to remove advertisements.

The free app’s “Remove Advertisements” high price has confused users for years, because people incorrectly assumed that by paying to turn off advertisements, they were also getting access to the other two episodes. To make our value proposition clearer, we’re lowering the price of the “Remove Advertising” IAP to $1.99, on sale for $0.99 this week only, and we’re increasing the price of Episode 2 and Episode 3 to $1.99 each. (These changes also affect the Android app and the version you can play on our web site.)

In addition, to make it simpler to buy the entire trilogy all at once, we’ve bundled Episode 2 and Episode 3 into the paid app. The paid app used to be $3, but now that it includes the entire trilogy, we’re raising the price to $5.99, on sale for $4.99 this week only. If you’ve already purchased our paid app, you can download the latest version and play Episode 2 and Episode 3 at no additional charge. Thank you for supporting Choice of Games.

No matter which app you select, overall, the trilogy is $4.99 if you buy this week; next week, the trilogy will cost $5.99. So buy it today!

(Note that both apps also include some pay-to-win IAPs, for players who want to skip Episode 1 and/or Episode 2 and still get the best possible outcome. “Play as the Consort,” “Life Mage Child,” and “Death to the Princess” are all still $0.99 each; we’re not changing those prices or bundling them into the paid app, but clever players can unlock these options in-game at no charge just by playing carefully.)
