Heroes Rise: The Hero Project

We’re proud to announce that Heroes Rise: The Hero Project, the latest in our popular “Choice of Games” line of multiple-choice interactive-fiction games, is now available for iOS, Android and, via the Chrome Web Store, Windows, OS X, and Linux.

As a contestant on “The Hero Project,” you’ll battle villains and heroes alike with your newly discovered “Infini” powers. Will you vote to eliminate your rivals, or betray your alliance to curry favor with the celebrity judges?

“Heroes Rise: The Hero Project” is the sequel to last year’s hit “Heroes Rise: The Prodigy,” the epic interactive novel by Zachary Sergi, where your choices determine how the story proceeds. The “Heroes Rise” series is entirely text-based–without graphics or sound effects–and driven by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Play as male or female, gay or straight; you can even start a “showmance” with the other contestants. What will you sacrifice to become the nation’s next top hero?

How high will you rise?

We hope you enjoy playing Heroes Rise: The Hero Project. We encourage you to tell your friends about it, and recommend the game on StumbleUpon, Facebook, Twitter, and other sites. Don’t forget: our initial download rate determines our ranking on the App Store. Basically, the more times you download in the first week, the better our games will rank.

  1. Marissa says:

I’ve been waiting for this all week! but when I went to download it from the Amazon app store it wasn’t there, I don’t have a credit card so I use amazon gift cards to purchase all the choice of game and hosted game apps. I absolutely LOVED the first heroes rise and REALLY want to play the hero project! Do you plan to release it on the Amazon app store? and if so when? and if not WHY!?!

  2. Sabriel says:

Awesome! When should I expect to see this released for the Kindle?

    • FairyGodfeather says:

I imagine that Choice of Games has submitted it to the eink Kindle store. Slammed! was submitted months ago.

According to this article, Amazon’s stopping allowing apps for the e-ink kindles.

While Amazon disputes that’s the case I’ve not seen any new e-ink apps. I think they’re trying to focus on the kindle fire instead.

I’d suggest contacting Amazon and asking them what’s going on.

      • Sabriel says:

Ouch! I read your link and I’m not entirely surprised. The truth is that e-ink Kindles are terrible for most apps.

They’re fantastic for interactive fiction, though.

        • FairyGodfeather says:

Since they wouldn’t even release them in my country I wouldn’t know. It does seem like the perfect way to play though, I was disappointed when I couldn’t.

  3. Kat says:

Sorry to make this comments section sound like a broken record, but yeah, it would be great if this got added to Amazon’s app store as well.

  4. Pqfire says:

I absolutely loved this one, I can’t wait for the next one!

  5. Sarah says:

Loved it just as the previous two new games. Any chance we’ll ever see any released for Windows Phone?

  6. Keaton says:

I loved this game! The only thing I didn’t like was how mean black magic was I stayed with her because it got better but in the first game she was nicer but other than that loved it!

  7. Needful83 says:

Love the new game.. Just finished playing it through. I am so looking foreword to reading the third one.. ^^

  8. Christian haggett says:

This game is totally awesome. It’s really long and filled with choices. You should totally buy this game!

  9. Tracy says:

When I heard about the release from my email. I JUST SCREAMED. I absolutely LOVED the first game.

I played the demo of this and I was so HOOKED. This is such a great series! Though, I am a bit disheartened with the kindle app thing… 🙁 I’m a kindle user and it really saddens me that there’s a possibility it wouldnt be released through kindle.

Might get it for ipad 🙂

    • FairyGodfeather says:

The best I can suggest is to send Amazon an email and ask what’s going on. If they get enough kindle users emailing them, perhaps they’ll change their minds.

  10. Maggy says:

I love this game! You did a great job! Seriously this one is much better then the first one:)
Just tell me will Black Magic come back from coma . I feel bad for him:(

Ps:Can’t wait for the next part of Heroes Rise ;)And thank you for the great game you made

    • Drago says:

What black magic can be in a coma WTF that has totally blew my mind of how the choices can go

Does his secret become known and also what happened to lucky

  11. Dan says:

I’m at the part were I have the choice to take the pump pills what should I choose

    • Drago says:

I wonder what happens if you do take them because I was very consistent not to take them with any of my characters as I do not want to ever fail.

    • Sid says:

I have played through this game multiple times, making a vast array of different choices in each.

If you take the pump pills you will be able to control your infinity powers MUCH more. This plays a role while facing The Crush in one of the later missions. If you take the pills and make it to the end (by selling out Null’s identity to Rexford) you will be the one who losses control instead of The Crush. Depending on who you ended up having with you at this point in the game either Black Magic or Lucky will try to see if your okay as you lose control. Whoever does this will be the one put into the coma.

The time I played through and took the pills I was playing as a villain. In the way I played through I was knocked out when I lost control. When I awoke I was watching the show from a dark room while I was completely restrained. I was told that Lucky had been injured, but never informed of how severely or if she was even killed. Finally someone came into the room and I was told that Victon and Rexford couldn’t be stopped, they would see their plans come to fruition. The person then slit my throat and I died.

  12. Drago says:

I am going to say this……………………………………………..Best COG and HOG game ever

    Maybe a bit spoilish///////////////
oh my god I have never been so desperate to keep my character along the Justice and Lawful path but still I’ve broken up with Black Magic (I never wanted to), I’ve made everyone on that damn show my enemy (though im still called the heroes hero especially since my legend was 95, so close) and become so happy with my character

    To sum up

    I want more….

  13. Hasani Allen says:

Hey could someone maybe help me out? I download choice of games on my iPhone and for some reason I can’t figure out how to continue my story from part one to part two… Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

    • Sid says:

Name the save and type in your email when prompted to at the end of part 1. In part 2 you can choose to start the same game back up by restoring your saved game from You obviously must be connected to the Internet when saving the game and when trying to restore it to the next part.

  14. I love anything to do with super heroes. This definitely seems like a must read!

  15. UsagiStrife says:

So when are they releasing the third comic?????????
This series has rekindled my joy of reading and it would be a shame to find out this was discontinued… I haven’t felt so excited about a book since my accomplishment of finishing the fourth Harry Potter book in 4th grade (took me FOREVER)
